Economics ->Greek word(oikonomos), oiko - house, nomos-law/customs / management-> household management
this means it all started in GREECE
City/states:
Babylonia/Babylonians->started the terminology mortgage and interests
Phoenicians->Started the formal commerce of the country and the importance of circulating the money in the market or what the call barter.
Hebrews and Hindys in asia-> aims perfectness and happiness(nirvana)
3 Virtues:
- there should be INDUSTRY
- they must have CHARITY
- you must have HONESTY
- Plato-> greek philosopher who espoused the idea of economics of division of labor
- Aristotle->mentor of Alexander the great,giving importance to money as a means of exchange.
- Aquinas->crusaded the distributive justice and compensatory justice.
- as a science, it is still young
- from all the sciences, Economics is the youngest
- 1776-in this year Economics is referred as social science
- also in this year Adam Smith studied america and its tribal wars,
